From the Hustle to the Heart

Updated: Apr 19

We live in a world where success often seems synonymous with ceaseless hustle, relentless ambition, and the perpetual pursuit of external validation, it's time to pause and consider an alternative perspective. What if success wasn't about reaching a predetermined destination but rather about embracing the journey itself?

In my experience success isn’t just measured by material wealth or societal status but by the depth of our connections, the authenticity of our experiences, and the alignment with our core values. In other words the ends don’t always justify the means.

Here are some key insights to meditate on:

  • Shift your focus from "doing" to "being": In a culture that glorifies productivity and busyness, it's easy to lose sight of the importance of simply being present. Take time to connect with yourself, to cultivate mindfulness, and to find joy in the moment.

  • Embrace your unique journey: I recently had the revelation that comparison is not the thief of joy, but it is the route to finding it. We are wired to compare, it is a part of healthy decision making. However if in your process of comparing your life to others the condition of our heart will either lean towards two major ways of thinking.  1) You will be motivated or hopeful that your condition can improve if you make different choices  2) You become envious and have thoughts that you are defeated and unable to improve your condition

Yes we are all on unique paths, with our own set of challenges, strengths, and aspirations. But God doesn’t leave us without mentors, leaders, and examples to look to for inspiration. Embrace your individuality, celebrate your journey, and trust in your own evolution.

  • Find your purpose: True success is rooted in a sense of purpose—a deep understanding of what truly matters to us and a commitment to living in alignment with our values. Take the time to explore what ignites your passion, what brings you joy, and what leaves a lasting impact on the world around you. I love the quote that says, “Do what you love and you will never work a day in your life!” Think about that.

  • Nurture your well-being: Success at the expense of our well-being is no success at all. Prioritize self-care, prioritize self-compassion, and prioritize your physical, mental, and emotional health. Remember that true success begins from within.

  • Surround yourself with supportive people: Success is not a solo journey; it's a collective endeavor. Surround yourself with people who uplift and inspire you, who challenge you to grow, and who stand by you through the highs and lows of life. Be open to having multiple circle groups and don’t feel the need to have to bring them all together. I remember when God began to deal with me about guarding my circle and expanding my circles. It wasn’t until I was open to this idea that I saw my experiences and exposure ELEVATE.

Remember, beautiful souls, that you are inherently worthy of success—not just because of what you achieve or how you measure up to societal standards, but because you are doing life God's way! Success, in its truest form, is about living a life of meaning, purpose, and love.

So redefine success and flip the script if you have to!

With love and light,

1John 1:5
